Hello Motoring Gang,

Welcome to the new LSMC forums. We've been working feverishly to get this site up and running. At the moment if you have stumbled upon this then you are of the select few that are helping us get the bugs ironed out. With this in mind please post issues regarding anything on the site in the help section of the info booth.

In the mean time here is a Mini-bit of information about us and thanks for stopping by.

We sponsor the events that help you to learn about your MINI and share the motoring experience with others.

This association of MINI enthusiasts is all about sharing the MINI motoring experience. We are fans getting together to collectively gain a greater appreciation for all of the things we can do with our cars. From taking a spirited Sunday drive to burning up the track on a Saturday afternoon, these cars can do it all! Our members are located through out Texas, from San Antonio, Castle hills, Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, New Braunfels, Waco, San Marcos, Corpus Christi and many other cities. We welcome anyone who wants to share in the motoring experience.

These are some of the things we like to do:

Monthly meetings - all are welcome
Driving Events at nearby Racetracks
Road Trips - Spirited runs on some country roads
Social events, group dinners, etc.

Will,
Glad you survived the other Mini Club beating I followed that via spam o gram email. I think the Lone Star Mini Club will be a great site I live about 40 Miles east of Austin and will try to make as many events as possible as I work a lot of weekends. Good to have you up and running.

Thanks so much for the support Dave. I think here we'll have a more diverse set of folks. Welcome aboard and hope to meet you soon. :)

Burleson TX, checking in. We're just south of Fort Worth and MetroplexMINI is our home group. I spent 4 years at Randolph in the late 60s / early 70s, so still have fond memories of SA. We sneak down there a few times a year.

Hey Uncle John! I'm farmilar with where Burleson is. I just moved down here in 2003 but I lived in Grand Prairie. Me and a few friends used to ride our motorbikes up that way.

Hello Will, etal. I'm Steve, with wife Kathy. I was the one who was interested in discussing the use of the forum at STMC; i sort of took a beating too. I have a EB/W 2003 MCS and my wife has a CR/W Cooper -- yes that is right we are a two MINI family. I will make sure to post here the events that the STMC is doing. I think the next one will be a run to Shiner on 8/20, meet up with the Houston MINIacs in Shiner for a tour of the Brewery, a run in the afternoon (maybe) and then the drive-in. i should have more details in a week or so.

Hi Will,
I'm Greg H from the STMC. I have to say I like the site and the way it is organized. It's a lot cleaner and easier to navigate than the yahoo groups. Have you posted anything about it on MINI2, North American Motoring, or Motoringfile? I know the STMC shows up all over the place when you google it, but I tried to google this site from what I could remember of the name Steve told me and I got nothing. I know the site is very young and that probably takes some time. If you haven't posted anything on those sites already that would be a good idea though, even e-mailing Gabe over at motoringfile to be added to the list of clubs would be a great idea.

Hey Greg,

Thanks for the kind words. I have to tell you I worked very hard to get this to the point it is now and in my eyes it's not done yet. A friend of mine is going to help customize it a bit more and make it nicer looking. In the interim though I did the best I could given the time frame. For that reason I haven't exactly sent anything to any of the big national MINI sites telling them about us. I was kinda hoping to have it in its final form before doing so but since we seem to have more and more people joining, (which is good considering we havn't put our name out there other than a couple of club cards I put on some Mini's I see now and again) I'll probably shoot an email over to those guys. Thanks again for the kind words and for joining the forums site. Please if you have any suggestions to improve the site, post a suggestion and I'll try to do it :)

Hi Steve,

Thanks for joining us and thanks for trying to stick up for me on STMC. I'm just glad that we had enough interest to form this group. Please feel free to post any events in the Events section and also check out the calendar. Its a quick way of keeping track and viewing up coming events and gatherings. Once again thanks for joining. :D

Hey Greg, we are now on motoringfile.com and if you search on yahoo we are all over the place too. We have gotten pretty big fairly quickly, considering.. Seems like each day we get someone new. Not everyone posts but they sure are looking which is good too. As long as everyone has fun, finds this site useful and easy to use, then I am happy. I really worked towards making it 56k dial up friendly so that not just the broadband guys would benefit from it. I really enjoy my car and would like to get to know you all and exchange ideas. Motor on...

Great! Now we just need to keep the events coming. Maybe if there is enough interest in the professional pictures then we could turn that into a group event sometime. A weekend run/photoshoot.

They should be posted in the events area when we have one. The next event is the bat cave drive I believe. :thumbsup

Your right guys at this point none have been happening lately. Here is where I will lean on a few of you to guys to post up for a meeting, even a Starbucks one. I've been buried under work these last few months that even my wife asked me the other day how "The MINI Guys" were doing. I told her fine but I just hadn't been able to get together with y'all as much as I'd want to.

I still see this forum as a great place to share information amongst local MINI enthusiasts. I'll try to post something up for the week after Thanksgiving, maybe another MINI dinner like we had months ago. Its always great to sit down enjoy a good meal and talk about MINI's, even if Berk doesnt own one :D

I'll try to meet you guys tomorrow Steve. I'm coming down with a cold or something, I'll show up albeit MINI-less at the moment. (Wife has him ) :(

Will, hope you can make it out, even if you are MINI-less. Or, bring the wife and let her drive the MINI! Pretty good food at Louie's.
