Do any MINI owners use Apple mac computers? I just got a Mac Mini a few months ago and really enjoy it. I think OSX is much better than the Windows operating system...it's a lot simpler and cleaner. :thumbsup

How do you like that Powerbook? I'm thinking about getting one down the road sometime. Maybe after they switch to Intel.

I love my PowerBook 15"! I wanted the 17" because it was a tad thinner, but just couldn't deal with the increase size and weight. So far, I've had one Mac-version of a "blue screen of death" in 6 months of use, and no other lock-ups. Tiger is just such a welcome change over XP, and I don't think Vista will be much of a challenge, either.

Check out the guy who won the Mini Scavenger Hunt for the ultimate Mini Mac MINI. His screen name on the owners lounge is Nemcabrio. He's from Houston. Does anyone from the Houston Club know him?

Yet another mac user here...I've preferred them since I bought my first one back in about '89 (it was a refurbished mac plus running system 3.2...I had a whopping 1 MB of RAM and a huge 40 MB SCSI hard drive :eek2 )

I still drive a mac today, but it is considerably more powerful. I've used most of the Wintel platforms since Windows 3.1 as well (generally due to work requirements) and have always preferred the mac OS.

Over the past few years people have noticed a sinificant link between macs and MINIs...there seems to be a much higher percentage of mac users among MINI drivers than among the general public...a sign of good taste, perhaps?

Cheers!

Yeah, I didn't expect this many people to reply. There does seem to be a good percentage of MINI owners using macs. :thumbsup I grew up using macs in school then everything switched over to windows in the 90s, so I had to use that all the way through college.

I think with OSX they should be able to give Windows a good challenge. The first version of OSX for Intel CPUs was already hacked to run on any computer with an Intel chip. If you could dual boot OSX and windows I think a lot of people would like that. It would be like choosing what internet browser you use.

I do have to use windows for work too. Until they make Solidworks for macs and a CAM program then there's not much I can do.

That's the problem with Macs. I was a big fan in the early days but an awsome OS doesn't go very far if nothing runs on it. I'm definately no fan of Bill Gates but Steve Jobs really screwed up by not allowing outside vendors to develop software in the beginning. He killed his own momentum.
