Today, I pulled the trigger on JCW suspension kit, i got a realllll good deal, and could not pass on it.

I will write an extensive report as soon as i get them installed.

BTW, stock shocks, springs and a set of h-sport springs with less than 500 miles are for sale.

oooo...I'd like those h-sports. Can't afford them right now but if you could hold them until like January then I'd take them from you probably. You know the JCW suspension probably won't be as low as the hsports, but will probably ride a little softer. :thumbsup

I am new to the forum and a new MINI owner as well. I'm actually racing a JCW in the MINI Challenge, and our Supplemental Tech. Regulations allow the addition of the front strut brace and changing the suspension bushings to polyurethane. Does anyone have these modifications? We have a two-car team now...www.teambdm.com ...

Sweet! How do you like the MINI so far? Oh and I think Sara and Kieth have that mod.

The polyurethane bushings are finally installed (an 8-hour job, then an alignment), and a two-person job. Full kit includes engine isolation mounts, steering rack, and gearbox, in addition to suspension, of course.

My teammate and I were able to do back-to-back comparisons on the track, and the difference is huge, as expected. Turn-in now feels like my sprint kart (well, almost), and the chassis is very quick to take a "set" at the apexes. It's now a real joy to drive at the limit, whereas before, it was pretty unresponsive if you pushed too hard (at the front). On the road, you can definitely feel a difference in a cloverleaf (steady-state cornering), and it's a little harsher, but only a little.

This single addition will be worth at least 1.5 sec/lap at our circuit, simply by carrying more momentum through the fast bends.

Now if we can only get the brakes to work...next test is temperature paint on the rotors and calipers to see why we cannot get rid of the pad fade, addition of AP600 brake fluid (high dry boiling point)...the stainless steel braided lines are a big improvement as well, as far as the pedal feel is concerned.

Anyway, the front strut brace and the bushings have transformed the Mini Challenge Cars...if only the rules would allow us to install a bigger rear anti-roll bar!!! That would be all that's necessary to balance the chassis.

Cheers!
