Okay, I couldn't resist. I sent this in this morning:

Here's a pic from our last "spirited" motoring event on Nov 19th 2005. This is from a joint event between the South TX MINI Club, Lone Star MINI Club and the Strictly European Auto Club here in San Antonio, TX

We did a run up to and through the Hill Country in South TX near Kerrville to Lost Maples State Park. It was a perfect day to do some motoring, the sun was shining and it was in the 70s. We had 14 cars, 7 MINIs and 7 StrictlyEAs (3 BMW M3s, 2 Audi TTs, 1 Mercedes E280, 1 VW GTI).

We motored up Hwy 16 to Medina (stop in Bandera), then 337 to Vanderpool (stop in Vanderpool), continue on 337 to Leakey (stop at the Motorcycle place in Leakey). Some great twistees here. Comments from our Strictly EA friends we heard were, "We didn't think the MINIs were that fast. We thought this would be a relaxed motoring day. But those MINIs, wow you guys (in the non masculine sense, of course) don't slow down in the turns."

After Leakey, 3 StrictlyEAs went off on their own way, while the 11 remaining went back 337 to Vanderpool to do the same twistees on 337 but the other direction. 3 split off to head back to San Antonio, and 8 of us went to Lost Maples State Park for our picnic. The weather was absolutely perfect! We said our goodbyes after lunch and our hike, and 4 MINIs headed south to Utopia for some pie at Lost Maples Cafe. The remaining MINIs motored back to San Antonio via 470 and then 16 for some final twistees before heading back to civilization.

Nice Steve. :thumbsup When are we going to have our next run? Maybe we could combine it with the South Texas and Strictly EA guys again? :cool: The weather right now is perfect for it. :D

Maybe sometime after Valentines Day?

yeah the holidays have had me swamped with work and all... I think (for me atleast) Spring time will be awesome.. I'd love to do another shiner run!!

Shucks, I was hoping for a run in January sometime. Maybe I will just have to join up with the StrictlyEA guys this month. :p
