I put some pictures in my gallery of an on-going sound deadening install, more to come later. After the rear quarter panel and door were replaced all of the sound deadening had to be replaced so I re-visited some other areas that needed some attention.
There are a couple of more projects in the works I hope to complete this weekend. School starts next week so free time will be limited once again.
Steve will have a how-to story to post soon and since he started this thread I think he should tell us about it.

i know, i realized that i spent a fortune during the holiday season, so trying to recover. To sum up everything, I did ALTA 15% pulley and a Magnaflow custom exhaust last week. Had an oil change, cleaned the engine bay, and a H&R rear sway bar is on the way.

We have been kinda seperated for quite sometime tho.

I put a couple of mods on over the holidays, met up with Keith to try to get rid of a squeling intake, and met with berk today to get stock intake parts. I have some more tinkering I'm going to do with the intake and throttle to try to lesson or get rid of the whistling. I'm gonna try putting up the stock wall with the Alta installed somehow to see if that does anything. If that doesn't work I'm gonna try a 60mm throttle body to see what that does. Then I'll have two throttle bodies so one I might modify the butterfly at work(chamfer the edges of it) to see if that helps any. It's going to be an experiment, but if I can find a solution I'll post it on NAM to all of the people annoyed with the noise. I'm also hoping to do the 15% pulley soon and I like those PIAA driving lights berk just put on. They are very compact and the brackets are clean and simple. I was going to put berk's h-sports on my car when he got them off, but changed my mind now. I think if I do any springs they will be the JCW springs now or just Koni FSD struts. After talking with Keith a little bit I came to the conclusion the h-sports aren't really what I'm looking for and I'm satisfied with the handling right now after installing the sway bar. That dynamat project Keith has going on is very impressive. Close his door then close yours and it is night and day the difference. Hmmm...one more project I'd like to work on. Where am I going to get all the money for this? ;)

Well, Greg, i can answer the last question, i always buy more things than i can afford, but work harder and make the money, but we are in different fields.

Like i said, those compact fog lights are killer, me like them a lot.

I am definetely interested in Keith's project, sounds exciting to me. I would at least experiment the sport springs and wear out the shocks before going to the Koni FSDs, btw, that is a technology. Koni is always one step ahead.

Anyways, i talked to Patrick from MTH-USA in Houston as well as SCIMotorsport on Topperwein and I35 (authorized Unichip Dealer) for a possible performance mod. Remeber we were talking about it today, i will post what i get back from them tomorrow. MTH looks like a good deal to me so far.

Maybe a few of us can get together one weekend and have a dynomat party. We could probably get both doors done in one day I suppose. Maybe around the kick panel area too. The rear looks like it would take some time and quite a bit of material. The battery box area could be done though, which is supposed to make a dramatic difference according to Keith.

Berk, I will have to talk to you more about those PIAAs. I'm really interested in those. Do they go on when you have the car completely turned off and the ignition removed? That would mean they are hardwired straight to the battery. I don't think that's a bad thing as long as you remember to turn them off. :eek2

MTH seems like a quality software. They have that support section over on NAM too. I just don't know how reversible it is like we were talking about. Since you are doing injectors now it might be worthwile to have though. I might be wrong, but I would think it might be better to wait until you have most of the engine mods done first so they can make a custom one for your car if they do that. Look into GIAC too.

And you know my opinion on the crank pulley...I don't think it is a good idea. I would do a 17% supercharger pulley before that(or 19% if you want to go all out). Your supercharger might not last as long, but I don't think a 17% would harm the engine. As long as you use cooler running spark plugs and don't run it at redline constantly it shouldn't do damage to the engine. There are people out there running 19% with a lot of miles and no serious problems. You just have to use a different size belt, which you don't have to do with the 15%. The other thing that bugs me about the crank pulley is alignment issues. If you stick to just the supercharger and have any alignment issues then it should be easier to troubleshoot. When you start changing multiple pulleys then you end up having to check them all. I just don't see the point in the crank pulley. Most of its benefits can be gained in other ways.

Well, at the beginning of February it will be my one year with the company I work at. I'm hoping for some sort of raise since I haven't received anything since I started working there. If I don't get anything then I will ask them, which has worked for some other people that actually started after me. One guy started working a little over 3 months ago as a machinist making less than me, but now after 3 months he is making just as much as me. Another guy has been working there for 15 years and hasn't used a time card for the last 30 years, but for some reason they made him use one beginning this month. That one is really hard to understand. People are talking about him possibly leaving, which would be a huge blow to the company. He is pretty much the brains behind everything we make and he has more experience in the field than anybody else. He isn't really someone you can just replace. They would have a hard time finding someone to replace me with if I left too. I know for sure they would have a very hard time paying someone in my field what they pay me, and be able to keep them for a while. Heck, I could be making almost twice as much as I do now someplace else. I'm staying there right now though to gain experience and I like a lot of the people that work there. I just have a feeling there are going to be some changes this year. Whoa, sorry for the off topic rant. Anyways, like you told me before Berk...once you start doing mods you can't stop.

Yeah, koni fsd's won't be for a while. My list of things to do is changing weekly and monthly. I think everyone who mods can relate. :p

And I'm interested to read Steve's how-to if its what I think it is. ;) I need to remember to have my camera with me when I'm doing all these things.

Keith mentioned it to me a little bit last weekend...something Bill wanted to charge you $700 for? ;)

yeah, for now i will stick to the 15%, which is pretty enjoyable, especially since our cars a little bit livelier than the early production models. The PIAAs turn off when you turn the ignition off. Parts are cheap, labor $50.00. I guess total of $175.00 if i am not mistaking, more than $100.00 cheaper than the old school, sportier.

Anyways, lemme know if Keith would like to help us on that.
