So, at the Strictly European gathering last Friday I found out the they usually have a once a month mod/detail day. Ruben usually hosts it. So, I asked him if he would host a MINI mod day and he agreed!! THANKS RUBEN.
So far I only have the date and time: Saturday Feb 11 at noon at Ruben's place. People will need to bring their own tools, or if you don't have a tool that you know you will need, make sure someone else will bring it. Also, bring your detail equipment, buckets, waxes, etc. And, of course, beer, and other things to eat and drink.
I will have more details as soon as I can. However, so we can judge interest, please sign up by responding to this thread.

Yes looking forward to a good mod/detail day. I have a lot of tools, but it's best to bring yours just in case someone else is using some of my stuff you know.
Oh, and no alcohol please. :D

I might show up for a little while. I will let you know for sure closer to the date. I just put on some driving lights, but can't use them yet because I need to figure out how to get the wire through the firewall and into the driver's side footwell. They are on my car and wired up, but I can't use them just yet. :(
Right now I don't really have any other mods except some squeaks and rattles I need to fix with some felt.

A lot of times people just come over to hang out. I think the last mod/detail day no one even washed their car or did anything. We just sat around and talked. Haha.
And yeah, bring the VAG tool. There is a guy who brings his to our mod/detail days but maybe it is a better one.
This is what I have

Waiting for MINI version to come out so I can get it too:dancing

My mods are pretty simple (1) add wire harness for rear tow hitch (2) add auto-up circuit (3) make rally lights on a separate switch from the high beams.

I have my rally lights connected right to the battery. The kit came with a relay and a switch. The switch power is what determines how they function. If it is hooked up to the high beam power then it only comes on with high beams, but if you hook it up to the battery or something else that always has power then they can be switched on and off whenever. I just need to poke around through my firewall and find where I should put the switch wire through. It was actually easier to wire up than I had thought though.
I could help out with the auto-up circuits if needed. :thumbsup

Hey azuul, what sort of tow hitch did you get? I was looking into them as a means for a bike rack, but I'm still not sure. Is it something that needs to be done by a shop, or is this a mod that i could possibly do at this mod day?

Its a bit pricey but its the best combination, I believe. I installed it myself (with a friend :D), but it took a few hours. Had to take off the bumper cover, and the bumper (and the muffler of all things). However, once its on, it look like it belongs on the car.

Just a reminder about the location and some other stuff:
Date: 2-11-2006
Time: 12:00 p.m.
Place: 8069 Old Austin Rd. Selma, Texas 78154. It is the big red-brick house with long, black driveway.
What to bring: Any tools you think you might need just in case and bring something to do to your car! And also cleaning supplies! Would be nice to bring some soda's and something to snack on. Working gets tiring! Ruben requests no alcohol.

Sorry Steve, I got a nasty stomache bug this morning. Was up most of the night/morning and still not feeling so great. Wish I could have made it out to this...maybe next time. :thumbsup

Michael and I (okay, mostly Michael) added the wiring harness for the trailer hitch and the auto up circuit. Next I need to add the auto up circuit into Kathy's car, Ruby.
As Ruben guessed, not too many mods on the SEAs, but lots of good talk and fun. We'll need to schedule another one when it gets warmer.

Thanks guys for shwoing up. It was a lot of fun and a big turnout. I will post the pics today so you all can see the pics. They came out alright, I think I was more interested in talking than taking good pics. Haha.
I told you that we dont usually do anything on mod/detail days! Haha. We usually all get there and are like, Eh we will jsut talk and we will put the mods off till next mod/detail day. Haha.
