I love my BRG Cooper Convertible and today it saved my life. I T-boned a Mazda 626 that pulled out across in front of me in the rain as I was doing 50 mph. I hardly had time to brake, not that the road conditions allowed me to slow down anyway. My wife and I have all the usual bumps, bruises and air-bag burns but we walked away mostly unscathed. The cops were impressed by how well the Mini survived the impact. The engine compartment area is just a memory but the doors still fit well and close perfectly -- well done MINI for building such a stout car.
It's only 6 months old, bought from the MINI CENTER in San Antonio and I hope it can be repaired. I'm looking for a good autobody repair service in South Austin, TX, or close by. Any suggestions?

Welcome to LSMC amacneish. I’m very sorry for your situation and glad that you don’t have worse injuries. I know you will be mentally replaying that accident repeatedly over the next few weeks and can only offer the hope that time will lessen the emotional impact.
I would assume that until you have a claims adjuster inspect the vehicle you won’t know if it will be total loss or not. The local shop where I had my MINI bodywork done has done a few MINIs and comments on how well they survive impact; keep structural integrity and protect occupants. I saw a hard top at the MINI Center with a completely accordion front end, broken motor mounts and compacted components. The radiator and body parts were held on with bungee cords and yet it could be driven around the lot.
I don’t have a local recommendation for your location but here is the shop where I had work done (door and rear quarter panel replacement), Boerne Collision Center 830-981-5450. Others on this forum have had repairs also and will chime in eventually.
Glad to hear y'all are safe. Gotta love great engineering. I hope your MINI can be repaired, as for a shop I'm hoping Chef chimes in. I believe he knows of a good shop in Austin. Again glad you guys came out ok.
