I had the clutch replaced on my 02 about six months after picking it up. Mind you I bought mine used. The main symptom on mine was that the clutch would squeal on really cold days (30F or less). All covered under warranty.

My clutch went out after four months. It's an April '05 build. Mini Center replaced it but that one was bad too, right off the shelf. Definately some bad parts issues. Luckily, everything has beed fine since then.

mine was not clutch, it is the flywheel, had a clicking noise since the first month of ownership, and now the car has close to 20K and Robert asked me if i wanted to change the clutch since there is 60% left and they are in it. I said what the heck, go for it. BTW they noticed a leak on cylinder head gasket which they are taking care of under warranty. Hopefully i will get her back either today or tomorrow morning as per what Robert says.

Oh and I was able to keep up and sometimes get around S's w/ my CVT at TWS...
Underated and underpowered!
