Someone at the MINI Center has got to be Superman. I tried removing the oil drain plug today and broke my socket. It has to be torqued way more than 12ft-lb. :eek2

Greg - have you had your car serviced yet? IIRC alot of folks have had really tight plugs form the factory i.e. before the first service.
If you have had an oil chnage already, well, then, yes I think there might be a gorilla back there....

Yes, it had its first service 6,000 miles ago. Khuevo helped me do an oil change about 5,000 miles before that and it was torqued properly from the factory. I asked the MINI Center how much an off schedule oil change would cost and they quoted me $120. Most people on NAM have been paying $60-80.
