Well, I swore I'd never do it, but I'm selling my old cars. I have a '71 Super Beetle and a '72 Buick Skylark Custom convertible.
The Beetle has had one owner and two drivers. My mother sold her '57 T-Bird when I was a mere six years old. She had three kids and a two seat car. I used to lay across the rear dash while my brother and sister sat in the front. She bought the VW and it was our family car for about 5 years until she got a company car. I started driving it around '80 - '81 and blew the engine in '83. It sat in the driveway for 15 years until we put in a new engine and I used it as a commuter car for about 5 years. Then my wife bought me the MINI... The body is in pretty rough shape. (some rust, dents, dings, etc.) The engine has @10,000 miles on it and $2000 was put in the front end less than 1,000 miles ago. I haven't checked the odometer, but it is around 80K total mileage. I put new slip covers on the seats with high density molded foam padding on the drivers side. I have a box of brand new weather stripping plus various odds and ends, including the highly valued Idiot's Guide. Maintenance has been done by Raul's out on W Commerce. (Highly Recommended)
I am the second owner of the Buick. It was bought at Covert Buick in Austin, then taken up to Ohio by the first owner. I bought it from a used car lot in Somerset in '85. It was my daily driver for over 10 years. The car is a partymobile and I'm lucky those seats can't talk. Some kid hit me a while back and I repaired it with junkyard parts. Then I did my own Art Car paint job. Then another one. It's now been sitting for several years and needs lots of TLC. The potential is still there though, and this guy is ready to be restored and roll again. No new parts go with this one, although I do have an inventory of used ones.
As far as price goes... I'd like to get the $2000 for the front end on the VW. The Buick I'm thinking $3000.
Pictures will come this weekend.
