ok, so you know that blue wiring that you can buy through mini? I know it gives extra spark power in cold weather exc.. but I didnt see it as an actual mod until I started reading on other ignition wiring systems.. do the Mini cooper blue ignition wires push out anymore power somehow at all?? Fuel economy difference?

The only thing different between the blue wires and the black ones that came with the vehicle is the color. I have the blue wires; I put them on at about the 50,000 mile mark as a part of regular vehicle maintenance. Did I feel a difference? Yes I did, because the plugs, oil, oil filter, and air filter were changed also. The MINI is no different than any other vehicle; it loves a tune-up. Plug wires are a consumable.

The MINI coil pack has a tendency to form corrosion on the terminals, especially the number 3. To maintain efficiency, protect the terminals with dielectric grease. If corrosion has already formed, clean and grease. The ignition system of our MINIs is more than up to the task; the feeling of enhanced performance that most report from aftermarket replacements is probably from new clean connections.
