I will try to create time for this event, looks strong to me and I believe our club should be at the event too. Anybody has been to this event before? Please share your experiences with us, is it fun?
I'll be there..

I think I will be going Saturday and Sunday. Driving up Saturday morning and staying one night then coming home Sunday. I can't make Friday cause of work and it would just be too much.
I'm with y'all on that, going up Sat then coming back Sunday

I thought the official HCR events were a little disappointing, but that's probably because I wasn't able to do the Sunday run. The bat cave run with the Houston MINIs was fantastic though. :D That road will have to be added to my list of fun roads to drive. :thumbsup

This was our first HCR experience, and due to my work schedule we could not participate on Saturday in any events. This morning we woke pretty early and got on the road, it was free of cops and peaceful in the morning. We got to Fredericksburg around 9.00 am, it was quite, but we could see Minis here and there. Around 10.00 am the party has started, we went and registered and got on the road.First, I was taking it easy till we came behind some folks from Dallas, 2 modded MCS and a brand new MCSc, we had so much fun, on those twisties, and narrow country roads, MCS shows its capabilities. Once again, I really appreciated the Mini, took a lot of beating this morning, threw her all over the place, especially when we were leading the Dallas guys. At a stop, he approached me and asked me if I knew the road, you should have seen his eyes when I said it was my first time. Of course I handed all my cars to people. A lot of Austin guys are excited about LSMC. We should have a little bit action within the couple of days on our website.
The route was selected perfectly, I had couple of incidents that we came head to head with a 3/4 ton truck, and a Mini convertable. But besides that, everybody was driving very cautios, letting the faster ones pass by, slow down when necessary (except me), and leave a distance between cars.
As far as my car, did very well. Once again, reminded me for better brakes (for rallies and autocross) and definetely better tyres.

I agree with the need for better tires. Mine were squeling and sliding on the bat cave run with the Houston MINIs. I think most of them had non-runflats. Did you do the one where you needed the navigator?

I also did the run today with a friend of mine and his daughter as navigators.
I didn't go real hard, but we had a good time. It was interesting to see all the cars - lots of full JCWs.

Hmmm...the bat cave run home in the dark will still be legendary to me. That was so much fun. :D :D Sounds like the run this morning was pretty good too though. :thumbsup The "grape stomp" run was painful...I thought I was back in San Antonio rush hour traffic but it was all MINIs! :eek2
