I have an '02 MC with a cvt, and have ported the intake side of the head, retarded the cam a few degrees to improve passing power. Everything I do is about cheap, since I am really just a man in the street, having bought my car for a bargain(it's still worth what I paid for it 2 years ago), but I had discovered and coveted one since being over seas for the war, so I happened into a good deal. Of course I want to improve it's performance in every respect since I have become accustomed to good handling and braking, so now it's normal to slide it around a turn on a country road. I know that I don't have enough to race, only to have some fun on the street. I continue to improve the car's performance because hotrodding is my hobby. You see me in my yellow with white top car with the cross and flag stickers on my back window. If you want to sell stock or otherwise performance parts from your S car, let me know, as mine has even less than what you started with. My goal is to be able to run with bigger dogs, and the mods I make are part of the fun. I'd like to participate in one of your meetings sometime, but have little to impress anyone at present. Keep having fun- Mini's are an E-ticket ride. -Jeffy.

Do you have a roll cage in yours? I saw a yellow/white MINI on Perrin Beitel near 410 with a roll cage and stickers. It looked pretty neat. I can't remember if it was a Cooper or an S though.

What kind of parts are you looking for? Suspension, engine, etc.?

Certainly no roll cage in mine, sir. I have graduated from being amazed at how it handles to noticing body roll, sliding around turns and realizing that there are cars that can get through a turn faster than mine... So, I guess the kind of parts I would want from the Cooper S cars would be the bigger diameter sway bars. My car is yellow/white and has a cross above an American flag stickers on the back window. I can be seen arm out the window, hitting the hind quarter with a quirt, trying to get it to run faster... -Jeffy.

I would have given you my old rear sway bar, but my dad threw it away a while ago unfortunatley. :(

I've got four 17" S-lite wheels I took off my S several years ago that I could let go cheap. Wouldn't do much for performance but would add a little bling.

Do you have the MC sport suspension? If not does anyone know if the sport rear sway is thicker? if so your welcome at mine

Mike, I would like those wheels, but then I'd have to buy tires for them and then my wife would try to shoot me, which is bad because she's just an average shot, and might hit my car. Justin, if you have a non "S" car like me, then the sway bars(both front and rear) should be take-offs from people who upgrade their S models for the track. The both of us should try to beg some out of somebody's garage. Really, guys, my wife wouldn't try to shoot me...
If I was near the car 'cuz she likes my Mini, too. Hey, if this club ever has a big gathering planned, let me know, since I would like to meet some of you whom I've talked with on the NAM site. I'm in Yancey. -Jeffy.

well, I replaced my sway with an aftermarket one. So needless to say I have the other one laying in my room taking up space. What I was asking is if the sports package has a thicker rear sway or the same.. Have you tried asking on NAM?

No, but I'm not in a hurry, because I want to port the exhast side of the head, after hearing from one of the hotrod shops that the exhast side does need attention(lacks), and also, I want to open up my stock muffler again because I've dreamed up an improvement to my current improvements therein. My first muffler mods improved performance and the silence remained. This could be a good thing, but I would like a sport sound, but not loud or intrusive. I know I will get an improvement, but what sound will I get? If it's too loud, I'll have to open it back up and add a sound reducer. It's all fun for me. Others just buy something and stick it in there, but then it was really someone else who made your car faster. I enjoy being the designer of the parts that made me fast. To be honest, all I have to do is wind up my rocket bike, and no car seems fast- 10 second quarter-miles, right out of the box+ 35mpg. That's another reason I don't get too nuts over my Mini's performance improvements. -Jeffy.

well, I have the stock muffler cut up in my garage.. and the magnaflows resonator cut out sitting around. So if you want them to play around with just let me know.

Did you feel a noticeable difference in performance after installing the Magnaflow exhaust? Does it use a larger diameter pipe? How does it sound compared to the stock exhaust? -Jeffy.

I believe its a 2 1/4 in. pipe. I definatly noticed more power on the highway, but its not a HUGE noticable difference. Compared to the stock exhaust its LOUD alot louder.
