Funny reply from Advance Auto Parts guy

So I called around hoping to find a K&N panel filter local in town for the MINI. When I told the guy that I needed one for a MINI Cooper S, he replies with... Um, who makes that Chrysler right.. :D I tried not to laugh and tell him now its made by MINI. He says OH! I never heard of them let me look it up... He finds its but says they dont have it in stock. BAHAHHAHAHA!!! Chrysler!!! Before we hang up he says wow, learn something new everyday, I never heard of a MINI.... :)

Hmm...the engine is built by Chrysler however. So he's not way off. I think the European version of the PT cruiser uses the same engine as the MINI. BMW went to Chrysler for the engine before Chrysler became DaimlerChrysler. Currently BMW is technically paying Mercedes Benz for the MINI engines and BMW doesn't like that. That is why the engine for the next generation MINI was developed by BMW and Peugeot.

That is funny though that he thought the whole car was made by Chrysler. I had my MINI at the Advance Auto Parts on Culebra last weekend and they had me pull it up front so everyone could check it out. I opened it up and let them sit in it and popped the bonnet. They were very impressed.
