The damper on my tensioner lost its seal, causing oil to drip on the belt.

When I replaced the tensioner I also added a cable stop limiter from Detroit Tuned. Although my belts are changed frequently I decided to add a little more insurance against pulley damage in case there is a belt failure. If a belt fails the cable will prevent the tensioner pulley from striking the crank pulley.
