So I got a new Garmin GPS handheld. It was pretty "cheap" sub 150 and its color. It is pretty small but I loaded up some Garmin mapping software and I have to tell you, it really works well.

So where is all this going??? I am able to save routes then create maps from them, or go on a MINI run or the upcoming SEA run, route it and have it saved for future runs. I still want to create a route DB for us to share and be able to download anytime.

Bigtwistee!!! Where are the super secret maps you were getting from your pal over seas!! BTW did he ever pay you back by calling you in the wee hour of the morning :D

GPS units are great. Check out my gallery for a nice shot. We topped out a little faster but my wife wanted to look out the window instead of taking another photo. Can't blame her. Plug the coordinates into Google Earth and tell me where we were.

They work really well for a half day run since usually a route will only hold 2000 points. Any longer and you loose detail. The newer ones may be better. It's really cool to color code the route by speed. The red staightaways are fun, but the yellow curves are really exciting.:thumbsup
