I just had some ceramic window tint installed yesterday after hearing about this stuff from Will a few weeks ago. It's pricy compared to regular tint, but in the sunlamp demo it really seemed to block an amazing amount of heat.
In Houston in think there's only one place that installs it. They have 3 variations of the film made by Hüper Optik, STARK 30, STARK 40, & STARk 50 which I think corresponds to Ceramic 30, Ceramic 40, & Ceramic 50 on Hüper Optik's website. (http://www.huperoptik.com/CeramicCompare.asp).
I went with the STARK 30 mainly because the color seemed to look better on my car. The price increases as the number decreases (related to the amount of light/heat that is allowed to pass thru). I was quoted $300 for the STARK 50 & originally $400 for the STARK 30. When the installer thought I was going to go with the cheaper STARK 50 he dropped the price to $360 on the STARK 30. I got a quote of $500 from an installer just outside Houston.
I like the way it looks & should know by this weekend how well the heat rejection works. If you're going to the HCR you can see it there.
