After listening to Woofcast 9, I am considering ordering Hawk Cermanic pads. I am getting fed up with excessive brake dust. Any opinions? Advice?

Just be careful with what you buy. I have heard some aftermarket brake pads are so hard they can scratch and destroy the stock brake discs. I think those were EBC Red stuff. I think khuevo said Ferodo pads were good. My stock ones are still good so I haven't been able to experiment with different types yet, but once they are used up I will probably try something else.
I have the white wheels so they get brake dust real bad, but I have found they are easy to clean if you get a tire brush to loosen up the dust. I spray soap and water on them, scrub with the brush, rinse with water, then wipe down with a micro-fiber cloth. Nearly all of it comes right off without much effort when I get to the cloth step. :thumbsup

depends on your application. If it is just dust that is bugging you then going Hawk isn't really necessary. I run with ferado 2500s all the way around and the dust is almost nil for daily driving. They have 3 track weekends and lots of fun runs/rallys on them and show no excessive wear and the dust isnt a problem. I am not saying they are bad, just other options out there.

I always though the same way with the dust, the same problem with every German car, BMWs, Mercs, Porsches.... They love to use soft brake pads. The cars tend to stop quicker, but can't keep the wheels clean. I wash mine twice a week in regular basis, so do not have big problems with the brakes at all. However, I suffered from fading too many times, it is obvious that the brake pads are not geared up for beating. They will do fine in daily driving, but when you are on a serious run (Will and I had the same experience on our little run, and oh boy, yesterday at HCR) you will really need the mod on brakes. On the other hand, brake mod is still in the middle of the list for me, if I have a big urgency, I might get better pads (regardless of dust factor) and different brake fluid. But for now, I still will wait till next summer, because winter season we won't have big problems with the brakes and I do not see an Autocross. Anyways, probably did not answer your question, but my suggestions is to wait a little bit more for the pads, because they are so new, as a matter of fact, use them as much as you can, so they will wear quicker:) Hawk is more performance oriented than the daily driving pads.
I will make a little more search and let you know. How about k-huevo?

I haven’t had experience with any Hawk pad much less the new ceramic compounds. I find the Ferodo DS 2500 front and rear pads perform exceptionally well for my driving style and they produce a moderate amount of dusting. The drawbacks for these pads would be occasional squeal and fairly rapid rotor wear. Neither of those issues bothers me a bit.
Randy, what did Randy Webb say that created your interest in that product?
Randy Webb’s recommendation is good for something; his experience in pad compounds and their proper use is much greater than mine. I know very little about the latest offerings. I will recommend avoiding the EBC GreenSuff pads because I thought they were sorry performers.

I don't want any noise. My main goal is dust reduction. I want street pads; I don't drive hard.
